How to Fix Bosch Dryer Error Code E12
The E12 error code on your dryer indicates overheating due to restricted airflow. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Turn off the dryer: Unplug the dryer for safety.
2. How to Clean the Lint Screen:
- Remove the Lint Screen: Open the dryer door and locate the lint screen, typically found at the bottom of the door opening or inside the door itself. Slide the lint screen out.
- Clean the Lint Screen: Use your fingers or a soft brush to remove lint from the screen. For a deeper clean, wash the lint screen with warm, soapy water and gently scrub with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinserting it into the dryer.
- Check for Residual Lint: Inspect the area where the lint screen fits for any leftover lint and remove it.
3. How to Check and Clean the External Vent: Inspect the external dryer vent for obstructions, bends, or blockages. Ensure it is clear at the point where it exits your home.
- Locate and Inspect: Find the external dryer vent outside your home. Check for visible blockages or lint buildup on the vent hood and remove any obstructions.
- Clean the Vent Duct: Disconnect the dryer from the power source and pull it away from the wall. Use a dryer vent cleaning brush or a vacuum attachment to remove lint from the ductwork. Reattach the ductwork securely.
4. Restart the Dryer:
- Plug the dryer back in and run a test cycle to see if the error is resolved.
