A clean vent hood filter is vital to a kitchen's air quality and fire safety. Here's what you need to do in order to get it clean:
- Turn the ventilation off
- Remove the metal filters
- Wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth
- Let dry thoroughly
- Reinsert ventilation hood filter
Metal ventilation hood filters can also be washed in the dishwasher, though please be aware that metal discoloration may occur.
Wondering about other type of ventilation hood filters, like carbon/charcoal?
If your home vents to outside the home, your ventilation doesn't use a carbon/charcoal filter to neutralize kitchen odors. However, if your ventilation recirculates air in the kitchen, your ventilation uses a carbon/charcoal filter and it should be changed every 3 to 4 months. Carbon/charcoal filters help neutralize odors so they don't linger in the kitchen. Please review your owner's manual to learn which carbon filter to purchase. They can be purchased in the Bosch Accessories Store.
