And when you pair your appliance with Home Connect, you don’t just have premium hardware, but also an appliance that’s digitally aware. Thanks to the app on your smartphone or any of your other devices, including a smartwatch or one of the voice assistants, like Alexa, your fridge can offer advice on how best to store your food to prolong its freshness and flavour. And if you capture all your groceries on the app, you’ll also receive reminders when items are about to expire. Home Connect will even suggest recipes to help you use up leftover produce and minimise food waste. That way, you and your fridge have meal planning covered from inventory to inventive ideas.

Planning dinner at the end of a long day gets you down? Home Connect can help. If your refrigerator has a camera, it’ll take a snapshot of the contents every time the refrigerator door closes, so it’s easy to figure out what ingredients you still need to purchase. You can also use the app to set the supercooling function on the way home so that your appliance gives your groceries the chilly reception they deserve. This lowers the fridge temperature for a period so it can cool large quantities of groceries quickly or chill drinks. Super Freeze works similarly to Super Cool, freezing food faster to lock in vitamins and preserve colour and flavour.

Long live freshness with a long-lived appliance.

Doing a defrost is valuable time lost. That’s why most Bosch freezers have NoFrost or LowFrost technology, so you never have to chip at ice again. Home Connect goes even further to make appliance care almost care free. The app not only provides helpful tips and tricks on maintaining your refrigerator and freezer compartment to extend their lives but also sends reminders to your devices, for instance when the water dispenser filter is due for replacing.

If there’s ever a hiccup with your refrigerator, Home Connect has the perfect hook up. Simply request support through the app and an expert will contact you. With your permission, they can remotely access your appliance and run diagnostics to find the fault. Often the problem can be resolved without a visit, but if it is necessary, the technician will arrive fully briefed and with the correct parts.

Leave the refrigerator door open and you’re leaving your wallet open. Your appliance has to work much harder – and use more electricity – to maintain the degrees C you programmed into the temperature display. To help you take action, the Home Connect door alarm feature sends a push notification as soon as the temperature changes significantly.

Is my data safe?

At Bosch, every engineering detail matters and we treat your personal details the same way. To secure your information, Home Connect only works with encrypted Wi-Fi networks. And we don’t stop there. Together with independent experts, we run regular system checks to stay ahead of cyberthreats.

What special equipment do I need to use Home Connect?

None. As long as your phone, tablet or other smart device can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, you shouldn’t have a problem with Home Connect.

How do I know if my home Wi-Fi network covers the area where my appliance is?

Easy. Stand next to your appliance with your smartphone or tablet connected to the network and check how many bars you see in the Wi-Fi icon. Alternatively, download an app to measure the signal strength.

Can more than one device interface with my smart appliances at the same time?

Yes, that’s no problem.

What happens if I no longer want to use Home Connect?

You’re free to delete your Home Connect account at any time. Go to the Settings section in the app and you’ll be done in a couple of taps. Just remember that you won’t have access to your appliance’s smart functions afterwards.
